My children are IB students in the Netherlands, getting ready to apply to Dutch universities. When I sat down to help them, I assumed there would be one clear, official checklist somewhere, something that explained what needed to be done, when, and which rules applied to them.
There wasn’t.
Instead, I found myself with fifteen tabs open and still no clear answer. The information was there, but it was scattered across school guidance, university websites, Studielink, DUO, and online forums that did not always say the same thing. What I needed was not more information. I needed the right information, in the right order, for my child, in that particular application year.
And the further I looked, the more I realised this was about far more than the application itself.
It was about managing the IB years without missing important moments. It was about keeping subject choices aligned with future study options. It was about understanding deadlines, documents, eligibility, and the life admin that suddenly begins when your child turns 18 in the Netherlands.
I realised we were not nearly as prepared as I had thought.
So I built what I could not find: one place that brings together the IB years, the university application process, and the practical admin around them, with every official rule linked back to its source.
